Respiratory Infection in New Puppy, Advice? Hi, just picked up Lilou from the breeder yesterday. She seemed fine and healthy when I picked her up. It was a five hour drive home and she got terrible motion sickness. She threw up whatever she had eaten previously and not to be gross but it was thick and hard for her to get rid of. Afterwhich she started this coughing. By the time I got home it was pretty late and we were all exhausted. She slept quietly through the night with me, but when she would awake she would cough once or twice. I figured maybe she had aspirated a bit and he esophagus was irritated. Took her to her vet appt this morning and he said she had an upper repiratory infection that was beginning to become a lower as well and lrescribed her antibiotics. She is in them for seven days. She is very tired and doesnt want toeat but drinks plenty of water. Taled to her breeder and asked told him the situation as she had a brother and I was concerned for his health as well. He called his new owners who pcked him up last night and they said he is fine. Do you think this was really caused by aspiration since the other pup isnt sick? I know this happens in children. She just wants to sleep and I'm a little worried about her. She is only 1.5 pounds. She is sleeping in my master bath as it is cozy and quiet in there. I have a humidifier going in there for her. |
