The shock from a electric fence hurts just put one of the collars on and try it. Because yorkies are so small it can really really hurt them and do some damage. Those kind of fences also do not keep bigger dogs and other animals that could hurt or kill your dogs out. Also people can walk right in and steal your dog or hurt them. Normally the dogs will take the shock to get something they really want but will not take the shock to get back in.
