My sister used to argue with me about pet food- she fed her cats crap food because "they do fine on it." Eventually, because her cats were ALWAYS at the vet for one issue or another ("they're just old" she'd say,) she switched them to some really good, premium food. WOW! What a HUGE difference in her cats! They now only go to the vet for their annual checkups. Her vet is floored at how great they look and at how healthy they now are. The cats are both long hair males- one is blonde and one is black and white. Their colors are beautiful and shiny and they are SOOOO soft AND they shed SO much less! These cats, now on GREAT food, are SO healthy and young seeming now. Seriously, we were all waiting for the day when the older one was going to just not wake up, but now we can't imagine it happening any time soon.
Some people just don't learn until they see first hand. My sister is now a huge advocate of premium pet food.
