Regarding insurance, I recently insured my 5 month old puppy. I think it's worth it because two trips to the vet have cost us $600, which is the yearly insurance premium. And mine always gets sick when the regular vet closes and then we have to go to expensive emergency vet. His insurance coverage lessens the financial burden on me so that I can ensure that he gets the best medical attention.
