I don't know of any state where rabies titers are accepted in lieu of the vax (although titering may be encouraged if the animal has a medocal exemption). After challenge studies are completed, I hope states start to move to every 5-7 years. Until then, imo, any dog healthy enough to be vaxed every three years should be.

I know to some rabies seems like a very distant threat for house dogs, and it is. But when I started shadowing a vet I realized just how real the testing for this is and just how often it is done (for human safety it has to be).
