When in doubt leave it out.
I read over that article more, I'm guessing they assume people use harsh chemical dog shampoos including flea control super harsh chemical shampoos and they are using the mineral oil as a coating for the eye itself to prevent the amount of possible chemical burn.
Ridiculousness.
Try some Yorkie Splash and Shine grooming products they are a favorite here.
Some use Minksheen as it is a natural parasite detourent-it bothers me it is made by killing minks.
Many like Pek or Chris Christensen etc etc etc, just ask here about grooming products you'll get loads of opinions-just double check who's advice you follow and it is a Yorkie friendly products-for dogs with hair and not fur as well a sensitive formula.
Many use baby shampoo on puppies specifically for it's gentleness and tear free properties...not all baby shampoos are created equal many contain harsh chemicals.
Personally we use Wen by Chaz Dean here it's easier for me to use the same product on everyone and we love it will never use anything else on myself, kids or dogs.
If I was to use Wen on a puppy I'd use the lavendar formulation or the new Wen for Kids which is only currently avalible through QVC...otherwise you order it through Guthy Ranker-or eBay a little bit to just try it and not fully commit. It seems expensive but its the only product we use here period so the price per bottle of cleansing condition saves us a ton of $ actually.
My Mini Schnauzer does best with pomegranate wen. |
