I've just been cutting Izzy's matts out and hoping that once her puppy fur grows out, her coat will be more silky, but I'm not holding my breath. Jack never matts (he did a bit when he was a puppy and I just cut them out also). I don't think I have the patience to sit there with a box of corn starch and try to work them out of Izzy's fur nor do I think she has the patience to sit there that long.
