Our house is one story minus a loft and Callie fell on the stairs and there's no door at the top and we are using it for guests so we bought a walk through baby gate for the bottom of the stairs and it works great I got it at bed bath and beyond and I am going to get another one for my hallway I think. Baby gates are awesome!
