Another thing I want to add... for children parents always have the emergency number list, back in the old days when people actually had home phones haha it was next to the phone, but have it on the fridge or taped inside a cabinet and a plastic bag to keep it water safe so do that with Vet's number and go ahead now before you even need an 24 hour Vet locate your closet location and have their number handy!! Make sure that house guest know where to find this info and maybe if you have house guest from out of town a lot in your home also have directions of how to get to the locations... also keep a copy of each pets records in the plastic bag also such as are your pets allergic to anything have any special medical needs or list of medicines they take and dosage amount along with times or if they take vitiams, what surgical procedures have the had in the past... important information an ER vet would need to know in case a friend or family member had to rush them in for you!! Always keep a pet first aid kit stocked and updated along with Pedialyte, Nutri-cal and hydrogen peroxide!!!
We do these things for our skin children and in my case elderly grandparent so why would we not do this for our furkids???
