Cry Bummer today I had an interview

I had a telephone interview for a position at my husbands company. It was going so well, I met all their criteria and up to a certain point, they met mine. My DH works for the company and it's a HUGE company, we'd be in different building altogether, but the same town. The big deal is it's 130miles round trip commute. Hubby does it 3 days a week and works from home 2 days a week. Its not a horrible commute if you go in earlier than rush hour and leave before rush hour. So he works mainly 7am to 4pm. I knew it would be a LONG shot but I was interviewing for his company hoping I could work the same hours and work from home the same days. Well, even though his dept lets their people, and it may become a company policy to allow people to work from home up to 2 days a week, the dept of the job I applied for wants their people in the office 5 days a week from 8-5. To me, that is not a salary position, and the money although awesome, is not worth the time. Its over an hour drive, gas is $3.60 a gallon right now, I'd rather have my TIME, than money. I am currently working a temp to perm contracting job 6 miles from my house, which takes me 20 mins.

My DH had a friend of his put a good word in for me directly with the manager, and my only hope is, the company creates a work from home 2 days a week policy that may mean I might have a shot at the job. I don't mind leaving the house at 6am 3 days a week, but not 5. UGH!

I did say that being onsite 5 days a week was break it situation, and I stuck to my word, I knew the job was a long shot, but I really feel disappointed that it didn't work out.
