day after Well I decided to give it a shot. I put Duncan in bed in his own bed when I was ready for sleep. At about 3:30 he decided it was time to make a trip outside. When we came back in he REFUSED to go to his house. He dug his feet in and would not go in. So I decided to give it a shot. I put him in bed with hubby and the other 2 and myself. Ahhhhhhh sleep until Hubby got up to get ready for work. I won't put him in initially because the other 2 need their time with mom and dad but I guess he can come in after he has been out at 3 or 4. I have tried to create an alpha order, my being alpha female. But in our home we have a yorkie-poo who is 5 yrs old very smart but sometimes makes me wonder if he weren't dropped on his head. He tends to be more timid than the pup. We also have a female Bull-Jack she is 4 and does tend to motherly towards the pup. Then there is Duncan the 8 month old who has taken over the house. He definatly has attempted to assert himself as pack leader and I really need to get a handle on that. I have started with feeding I feed them all together but I put food down for the oldest first than the female next in line and Duncan last, They all have to sit before food is set down. I'm not really sure where to go from here. When he is in his house and is whining as long as I know he has been out and is ok I try to leave him go and let him know he isn't boss and won't get everything he wants all the time. We have had several dogs over the years but I have never had one that got ahold of my heart like this guy. |
