I very recently lost my 1yr old to heart problems, I'm sure your Benji's is different. If I had any advice to give I would give this:

Regardless of cost, get your pup to a cardiologist, cardiogram (?) get all the tests so you KNOW exactly what your dealing with. Your pup is 10 years old and this is sudden onset? Please go to cardiologist and have him completely worked up and go with their best advice....

I personally would not want to destroy my pups quality of life...I have peace of mind and heart knowing my baby was playing and living her life just before she passed.

I wish you much luck and prayers for Benji.
