Agreed. Don't overplay your hand and timing is everything. When the time seems right, just drop by and schedule an appointment. Then at that meeting you can explain that part of rescuing a dog to a forever home is knowing which one you should choose for your home that will best blend with your family and activity level and why the first dog would not have worked out in your opinion. That's why I won't work with a rescue or any organization that wants to force "next one up" on anyone.
