Welcome to YT. Just be patient and if possible try to take her out at least every hour starting with the last time you see her go. This was how we got our little Lolita, also a rescue, trained. She also had the deformed paw pads from standing on the wire cage but like Yorietalkjilly said it was her safe place. We got her a crate with a bottom and a soft blankey and pad and when she didn't want to be around people that was her safe haven. Good luck with your baby.
