wow you can tell that I am a beginner because LOL I am having trouble understanding the directions. First off I am not really sure I know what bias tape is and what to use it for. Although I do like the idea of attaching the skirt to something that is straight and then attaching it to the bodice. Kathy forgive me for being so dense but even after looking a the pictures I am still not sure that I understand when you attach the bodice and to what part. At first I thought that yellow strip was the bias tape and that would be a good idea to work like that, but then I realized it's the sash.

I have never changed tensions and that sort of scares me because it was always the thing that gave me the most fits with my machine when I was a teen. I could never seem to get the bobbin tension right and my stuff would pucker or come loose. In high school I made this complicated granny gown for our jr prom and halfway through the night the seams were all coming apart on the back side. My home ec teacher said the bobbin thread was not right. So I am sort of scared to mess with that and did not even know you can. I am looking into getting a sewing tutor but that might take a while so please keep the advice coming and thank you to all of you that are being so helpful
