Hi Kerri,
I am so sorry that you are going through a rough time with Flossie. I have wondered how I will handle this situation when the time comes, and I hope I am able to stay strong. I don't know that I will, though.
I read in an earlier thread that you do not want to be with Flossie when the vet comes to put her to sleep. I know it is going to be painful for you. I hope you will reconsider, though. If Flossie is calmer and more comfortable with you holding her, please try to ease her anxiety and be with her at the end. It will make her journey easier and she will be comforted by your presence. Try to remain calm, and remember, you can cry later. If Flossie is just as comfortable with your husband, maybe he can be with her instead.
I am not criticizing you in any way. In fact, I admire how much you love Flossie. I just think that anything you can do to make her passing less stressful would be a wonderful gift to her at the end of her life. Just think about it. If you are physically incapable of remaining calm, then don't do it.
I'll be thinking of you. |
