As the OP stated, some of the cheaper bully sticks do cause digestive problems. I would rather pay a little more and not have to worry. So far have had best results with Best Bully. Have not had any issues with varying thicknesses yet. But I don't order direct form Best Bully so that may have something to do with it. Gracie is chomping on one as I write. I think getting a thicker stick is the best idea in order to prevent them from actually eating the stick. Gracie does not have a big mouth so I get her the regular thickness and it has worked well so far.
