It's True... they can be quite stubborn but are Smart little cookies!! You just need to let them know where it is okay to go. If you catch them going someplace else, make a sharp loud ahhh ahhh kind of sound, while clapping hands and then immediately take them to where it is appropriate to go. When they do go where they are supposed to go, Praise like Crazy!!

I agree you may have to build some sides to the potty area. I can tell Riley likes the Big Squirt much better than that Purina Second Nature litter box he first started with... The Big Squirt has a nice amount of room.
