This little bugger has been hiking his leg since he was 3 months old; neutered at 6 months, still hikes so high that if the wind is blowing, he has fallen over. Marks everything. Gave up on indoor training. He goes on the deck or in the garage basement in inclement weather. We just hose everything off. Belly bands are used when we go visiting to prevent marking. I guess this means I have given up...
When I trained Ry to the Pads, I would walk him in there and tell him to go Potty. When he went, I would make a HUUUUUGE Deal about it... jumping up and down, clapping and just acting like it was the Best thing in the whole world, and then I would Treat Him. He picked up very quickly. Although he is trained for outdoors, as well, I still walk him to the Pad during inclement weather or snow storms. And, I still do the Same Thing!! Jumping up and down.

He will occasionally use it when I am home and it is soooo Cute! I will know if he has used it because he will run to me and Bark to let me know he has used it!! LOL!!!!

I haven't had any problems with him when we go visiting or are out he will hold it and go outside... I have a few belly bands but have never had to use them. It's like if he knows there is no potty pad, then he knows he needs to hold it and go outside....??!
Ohhh I also do the same thing, outside! Will act all crazy and make a scene like it's the Best thing in the world he has ever done! LOL!! He gets all Happy!!
