This little bugger has been hiking his leg since he was 3 months old; neutered at 6 months, still hikes so high that if the wind is blowing, he has fallen over. Marks everything. Gave up on indoor training. He goes on the deck or in the garage basement in inclement weather. We just hose everything off. Belly bands are used when we go visiting to prevent marking. I guess this means I have given up...
Awwww!! Don't give up!! These little boogers can be quite stubborn... But they are way smarter than you think!! He will get it!! And you may need to build sides to your potty area like we did or use a water bottle for something to mark on!!
