If you check out Annamaet, Dr Tims and Fromm, you will see they have been around for many many years with no issues.

These are companies that make foods on the basis of science (similar to RC), have the ability to test the products in house or through a network of serious kennels and have legitimate professional/competitve users (sled dogs, hunting dogs, etc).

They all have someone that has a history of competition, has published legitimate researcher or in the medical professional of some kind.

I've learned about these brands recently- and am very interested in them! Of course, they are not usually in "big box stores" so they are a bit harder to find.

But you can find them all for less than $2-3 a pound.
