If meat or some other grocery product isn't on sale any particular week, you spend an extra dollar or two for it.
I look at the overall cost of upkeep, and whether it's per week or per month, it's minimal. Not eating out myself just one night in the week, not buying a cappacinos, or a couple of pops from the vending machine at work, and there's the money it takes to feed ZoE. So little of the monthly budget & she's more than worth it. |
I just think there is a lot of foods equal, or better, that are a LOT less money. I have no issue spending big $$$ on a food that my dog does very well on. It's not a huge issue for ME either (and I'm in college, so not a lot of moo-lah either), so I understand what you're saying. I just think the prices for the smaller dogs are through the roof, and totally based upon marketing decisions, they want people to buy the smaller bags.... and be spending $7/lb!!! Which is almost unheard of for any other food on the market. If you can spend $10+ less for just as well quality, why not?
