Nope...have not read Ann Rice, but have heard good stuff about them....I will put that on my list. I never had any desire to read vampire books until Twilight came along. I always figured they were bloody and scary (vampire movies always frightened me)

I have found books that I could just not get into.... sometimes if I keep at it I get hooked. The book "the host" by the same author that wrote the twilite seriers was like that..great book if you could get past the first three chapters.
I personally loved the outlander, I can't remember if it was hard to start or not.
I have a bunch of books on my ereader (I have all the apps .. kindle and nook on my ipad and iphone) that I need to power through that first chapter or so lol
