Nope...have not read Ann Rice, but have heard good stuff about them....I will put that on my list. I never had any desire to read vampire books until Twilight came along. I always figured they were bloody and scary (vampire movies always frightened me)

You gotta try it. What I really liked about it is how ancient / historical some of the vampires are, it really makes them fascinating (even though most of the story takes place in current time)...all the characters are really complex and unique. I think I'm going to read it again now, bc it's been so long.
