Yes, it could be that, or a combination... thing is we don't know for sure and while we wait to figure it out, the diarrhea continues and the threat of dehyration becomes greater. Dehydration is a killer in itself.
As a rule... I don't give young puppies anything OTC unless instructed by my vet. Young puppies with medical (vomiting/diarrhea) issues need to be seen by a vet as they can go down very quickly. A vet can provide supportive care (IV fluids, heat, IV nutrition, IV medications) while they figure out what's going on with the puppy.
Many times, a vet may not know for sure what's affecting an animal, and the supportive care alone is enough to get the animal through and return to a healthy state. |
He did say I was right in giving her pumpkin but did not comment in the nutical so I guess I should not have done that but kinda too late now
