At Walmart or one of the big-box stores or container stores, find a plastic container, storage container, trash can, etc., wide and tall enough to clear his torso, take it home and cut out an area to allow it to fit over his abdomen large enough to well clear it. Sand or otherwise soften the sharp or roughness off the cut edges. There are big plastic containers haha that can go over even big bellies if they have a large enough cutout at each end. Maybe one of those see-through plastic ones that appear kind of whitish?
