Abby Rose is 11 months old, and last week got her Trifexis treatment. She vomited the first pill, Comfortis, on Wednesday, on Thursday we gave her the Trifexis pill the vet gave to us. By that afternoon, her skin was all red and she started to develop welts and was itching like crazy. She also got diarrhea. We brought her to the vet who gave her prednisone which helped with the itching, but she seemed to get a reaction to that. The diarrhea continued, and became bloody at times. She was still eating, playing etc., but sleeping a lot more than usual. Long story short, after researching Trifex online, I will never give her that again!!!! Just got back from our vet who drew blood to take tests that will be paid for by the drug company.....she is taking immodium now which seems to be helping her tummy, but she is not 100% yet. I am considering giving her seasonal heartworm protection instead of monthly. These meds are very strong....just wanted to share in case someone else has had these problems. Tx!
No, no Trifexis already has Comfortis in it. No wonder this would bother her.
