Not to bathe him at home? Why? We bathe our full-coated boys once a week. Sometimes we push it a little longer.

Use a quality shampoo and conditioner, and keep him brushed out in between baths. Buy a nice pin brush and comb. Brush/comb small sections at a time with strokes starting at the bottom of the hair section. Move up a little higher once the lower portion brushes easily.

For tangles, use one hand to hold the hair and keep it from tugging the skin. Use the other hand to careful comb and detangle. I prefer combs for tight tangles.

Definitely no need for a furminator.
