*warning may ruin your day(it did mine)* As some of you may know I work at a no-kill animal shelter and while the majority of the time we find wonderful animals wonderful homes there are those days when you see the heartbreaking stories and the poor dogs that people just throw out like they are garbage. Two days ago a little yorkie mix PUPPY came in, some one found him shivering on the side of the road. He was skin and bones, nearly starving to death. Luckily we took him but yesterday I went to check on him and he was cowering in the corner growling and trying to bite. I've been working with him and he is being more of a happy puppy now but every time I look at his cute face I just cant image who would just toss him out on his own. Then today some one brought us a sweet little dog they found crawling on 2 legs on the side of the road, apparently the dog was beaten with baseball bats. His legs, ribs and spine were broken. He was humanely euthanized to end his suffering but apparently thier is someone or a group of people going around doing this to dogs. People make me so mad sometimes. Its been a hard week. I just try and focus on the positive things but when you see a dog basically beaten to death by someone........it changes you. I'm just glad he is at peace now.
