I love my Schnorkie...what could be better than my two favorite breeds in one dog right?
Unfortunately I now know the cons of such breeding...nevertheless increases AKC funding and hey maybe this will prevent litter fraud in some ways.

Guess we'll all see how this turns out over time.
I'm confused as to why you think it's conflicted, they've had this program for years, it's not new, it used to be called something else, but they will not be able to be sold as an AKC registered dog, it's just so that they can compete in other activities the AKC has for dogs. What’s wrong with that? As many have said they HAVE to be neutered so there will be no breeding. The AKC believes like I do that "mutts" or crossbreeds or whatever you want to call them are wonderful dogs, and should be allowed every right that a pedigreed dog has, except they don't believe in breeding them, because no one can predict the results. It's hard enough with purebreds. If you can predict the result of breeding, with some certainty, you will be able to predict how and adult will behave and look. If you can do that, you cut down greatly in the number of dissatisfied owners who want a specific looking dog who acted in a certain manner. That’s one of the reasons shelters are filled with mix breeds, the owners didn’t like the way that they looked or behaved as adults. Of course you still have those who don’t study the breed before they buy them.
