Hey guys,
My little 5mo old Chewy has had runny eyes since we got him 5 weeks ago. I dont so much care about the staining because he is a chocolate yorkie and the staining is the color of his hair. But, the drainage has caused him to have this yeasty smell. I talked to my vet about it and she said that I just needed to trim the hair around his eyes ( he has ALOT of hair) and wash the areas with warm water. Well.... I have done this and he still has that yeasty smell. There is no infection of his eyes, its just that the drainage has created this yeasty enviornment. Can anyone offer any solutions to to help get rid of the smell? I tried a 50/50 solution of apple cider vinegar and water which does seem to get rid of the smell, but I have to do this everyday. I just feel like its just covering up the problem temporarily. I have talked to my vet twice a about this and she just seems to blow me off about it "Just wash with warm water" she says
Well its not working. Any solutions would be appreciated!
