Well, as you mentioned your schedule may have something to do with it. I know a lot of members here sleep with their dogs and do not have a problem with being woke up. If you are gone a lot during the day then it could be that they are awake and ready to go when you are trying to sleep. My suggestion would be to try more exercise when you are there. If they are inactive quite a bit of the time when you are gone they just have a lot of energy to burn off.
