Aw what a cutie! Congrats. I agree that waiting until all vaccinations are done to socialize with other dogs. However, that should not stop you from getting her used to being your take along buddy. We take Gracie everywhere with us, from the first day we got her. I will say though that until she is completely vaccinated, we never put her on the ground! I am in Idaho and the vet says we only have about 6 parvo cases per year here, which is nice, but I didn't want to take any chances with her. I carry her everywhere, in my arms, in my coat, in my purse! We take her to rent movies, walk through stores, and to visit family. I do not take her to any pet stores, or anywhere that dogs would frequent. I am also very careful if I let someone pet her, but I'm not sure dogs can catch stuff from us anyway. Now, she is 16 weeks and loves to go with us. She is great in the car and isn't scared of anyone. She has lots of opportunity to see many different kinds of people during our adventures. She has a vet appointment Wednesday for more shots, not sure if that is the last round or not. Once she is safe to go on the ground, we'll start socializing with other dogs.
