 Housebreaking a puppy?
We just got our puppy a week ago. She was 9 weeks old and we started the the housebreaking routine right away. We take her outside every 1-2 hours and she does her business in the back yard. We praise her a lot and giving her treats. We are with her all day and there were several days when she didn't have any accidents inside the house. She sleeps in her crate all night and goes on a newspaper pad which is set up next to her crate. We obviously can't watch her every move, so sometimes she will use the newspaper pad to relieve herself during the day. Just wanted to know if we're on the right track to properly housebreak her and at what point she will stop using the newspaper pad and ask to go outside? |
