I think gender does not make any difference, especially if you want pup as PET only. If you want to get into serious breeding, then you can think of getting a female from a reputable breeder.

You have to find the right breeder first. Females are priced more than males, but I could not find any valid explanation for this. May be this is the way they prefer

I have male Yorkie, although he came from a back yard breeder, he has a good temperament. I am in process of getting a Biewer baby (male) from one of the reputed breeder. There are many knowledgeable people here who will be able to give you more advice. But please try finding the right breeder. Do NOT fall for back yard breeders or pet stores or puppy mills.
