We roll the windows down for our dogs on warm days, but only if they are strapped in and secure (whether that be by a carseat, the dog seat belt, or a leash and harness being held tightly by someone).... We know for an absolute fact that if Clyde wasn't strapped in he would jump out of the window to chase after something or say hello to someone as we are driving through town. Dexter on the other hand doesn't care much for the window lol.
It always freaks me out to see people driving around with little dogs unsecured to anything with their head far out the window. Anything could happen to that poor puppy! To sharp of a turn, a car accident, or the dog could just reach out to far and fall out in traffic. Once I saw someone driving around with a border collie in the back of the truck with the tailgate open and the poor dog wasn't secure to anything ... and they were on the freeway! |
