My yorkie is losing hair on her hind legs. It coincided with her first heat around Thanksgiving. Since there were no signs of skin issues/irritations and she wasn't scratching, biting or licking. I waited to see the vet. There are no signs of fleas, no flea dirt and nothing in the flea comb. I check her daily. We visited 3 weeks ago and he could not find any issues with her skin. Even used a black light to check for fungus on her skin. He feels that since it coincided with her heat cycle it must be hormone related. He suggested giving her 3mg of Melatonin twice a day.

Has anyone else had any experience or success with this treatment? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
