Some people think having a stud and studding him out, is all the $$$$$ and none of the problems of fooling with babies, prenatal care of mom, etc. Some thorough in depth, honest, careful research will show that is just NOT the case. YOU MUST HAVE A WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF PEDIGREES AND LINES SO YOU KNOW WEHAT YOU HAVE IN A STUD AND YOU KNOW WHAT HIS PEDIGREE MIXES WITH.....IF YOU GO BREEDING YOUR LITTLE STUD, TO A FEMALE AND SOMEWHERE IN THAT BACKGROUND, IT TURNS OUT YOU HAVE THE SAME DOG TRIPPLED UP ON BOTH SIDES, WHICH IS A GENETIC TIME BOMB FOR PEOPLE THAT DO NOT KNOW WHAT THY ARE DOING,YOU COULD VERY WELL END UP WITH A LITTER THAT CONTAINS LIVER SHUNTS, BAD HEARTS, BAD HIPS/KNEES, BAD EYES, BLUE BORNS, ETC.... Anyone can throw two dogs together and have babies....the thing that determines if YOU are just another puppy mill or a caring, responsible, ETHICAL breeder, is you KNOW what that litter that is going to hit the ground, is going to be,..... with 98% certainty! God still plays a huge roll in all this, and while He expects us to do the best we can with what He gives us, dont get tooo cocky, because He will step in and show you, you are just a smmall part of the total equation. You have a very long, detailed row to hoe, learning all about pedigrees and lines and what to mix and not mix, etc.....Good luck, do it correctly and be a part of the solution and not part of the problem! |
