Hi, and welcome. You will love having a Yorkie, whether you get him/her as a baby or a rescue. I got Brody, who needed a new 'good' home at 14 months old, and got (golden) Mia, who also needed a new 'good' home when both were 17 months old. They will be 3 years old in March...6 days apart in age...and you would never be able to tell they did not live with me as puppies. They are well bonded with us humans, and we have learned to cater well to their every whim. Seriously, the 'attitude' and 'thought' behind their actions sets Yorkies apart...IMHO...a huge part of their charm! I see nothing wrong with looking at rescues while looking at breeders to see where your...and your GF's puppies are. Oh, yeah, after you get one, you may find you 'need' that second Yorkie!
