Testing would be expensive... sometimes an 'off' odor will indicate food gone bad. Also check for mold at the bottom of the bag. You're right though, if food, all should have been affected at the same time. Viruses usually hit anywhere from 3-21 days in between exposure and symptoms, most 7-14 days.
