This is assuming he is otherwise eating, drinking and eliminating normally. Has he improved at all on any of the antibiotics?

When dogs are coughing it's generally assumed Kennel cough as it's a virus. Antibiotics are to treat any secondary bacterial infections. The wrong Antibiotic will not prevent pneumonia. One member here had a coughing dog and a throat infection was diagnosed, after months of tx for KC, when a C&S was finally done. Not KC at all.
