I think the emphasis that OP put on the amount of money, which in total for pup and vetting was $1000 is what textually leads me to think that perhaps $ was an issue....I could be wrong. I also think the OP did not have a clear understanding at all on how to deal with a TINY pup.

I woud think that any pup that was hanging on by a limb that when presented to a vet in such a condition would have been admitted, but what do I know. I've spent enough on my dogs that I could pay my house off already!
