well depending on the topical fleas can still jump on a pet from being outside. some dont kill the flea unless they bite the dog. flea dirt is black and its their poop. they lay their eggs in the house not on the dog. the white may have been dandriff or something. not sure what you found a flea is small and will jump. i tick is more round. sounds like you did the right things. you could go to your local lowes...uhm fix it strore and get a spray to spray your yard and inside your home. i use bayer it comes in a blue bottle. you will need to wait to retreat j i believe once a month especially at his age. as long as you keep the topical up every month you should not see an infestation.
