I use the snaps like you find on baby diaper covers. (Fabric stores have them in a section with baby fabric and idea books for PUL fabric)
I started sewing them into the dresses and halters I make because I like them better, and my dogs hate the sound of Velcro, not to mention their hair gets stuck in it.
