So my dog would only have to be alone for 4 hours at a time, twice a day, while I am at work.

One of the main reasons I wanted to adopt a dog, rather than buy a puppy, is because I know how much more time puppies require. I am willing to put in as much time as necessary, but I can't quit my job. Should I go to a breeder? What does everyone think? I was really sad when I found out that they couldn't process my application.

I'm so sorry....the guidelines can be very strict with adoption. I find it interesting....how many are euthanized each year? Also...I know quite a few families that should not even own a dog...and they are home all day WITH a fenced in yard. I know one woman who completely ignores her her...all day long..I said to her..."She's looking for your attention...why don't you at least bend down and pet her?" She said: "I'm busy!" I can't cater to a DOG all day long!" Hell...the dog is obviously CRAVING her attention...makes me ill to watch.
