The puppy we are going to get was born on Dec. 23 and at about 5-6 weeks she weighs 1lbs and 10 oz. She is 10inches around the middle and from the base of her neck to the base of her tail she is 7 inches. Her mom weighs 7lbs and her dad weighs 4lbs. In your expert opinions how big do you think she will be.
The breeder I am getting her from doesn't think she will be over 5lbs. We were looking for 5-7lbs. According to the growth chart it looks as if she would be at least 6lbs. I am hoping for a bigger rather than smaller yorkie. I know it is like trying to gage children size!?@#
Any thoughts? |
The thought is that double the size at 12 weeks is the closest approximation of what size the puppy will be as an adult. Of course, I have seen it go the other way, as someone said usually smaller....I hope this helps. Go for the one with the larger paws if you are looking for a larger one....
