So I ended up grinding up the dry food mixing with water and some nutristat paste, put the mix into a syringe and had to hold her down and force feed her. It was a huge battle and she hates it...I think I made about 30 cc's and overall she probably swallowed about 10. I have at this point followed that up by a teaspoon of honey which she licks up just fine. I am so deflated with this at this point I don't know what to do.
I hope you talk to your vet, I'm afraid you might be teaching her to hate food. I would never force feed unless the vet told me to do it. A small dog needs very little food and when Joey was a puppy, he only at ate a few pieces at a time, but I kept the food out so he could have it whenever he wanted. Do you have a scale that you can weigh her?
