It looked scary to me...I have never been to a dog show, please forgive my ignorance.... | When a handler picks up a dog it's supported with one hand between the dogs back legs and the other is right under the jawbone which is resting on the thumb and pointing finger. Imagine how your right hand would look if you were holding a sandwich. This doesn't hurt them at all as long as your placing yours hands in the right positions.
