Free fed dogs aren't as enthused about the food as dogs that are made to wait for it. If you are going to free feed, I suggest you throw the food out and give fresh at least once or twice a day, stale food can be unappetizing. I agree with Chachi, this is something to ask your vet. If you are going to give people foods, try to give something low fat, too much fat not only puts weight on it can cause pancreatitis. Some dogs don't put on weight because of liver problems and giving too much protein can hurt them, so you might want to do some tests if your vet advises it. |
