Well, how much does he bark? Does it go on and on? Will he stop if you tell him "no!"? Many Yorkies like to bark when they play. Gracie will bark when she plays but when it goes on and on I tell her "no!" and she stops. Of course you have to train a dog to stop barking if they do not know how to respond to your commands.

I guess I would be more concerned if this is aggression barking. If he is being aggressive after 4 years of not being aggressive then you are dealing with something more than an obedience problem. What you have described so far does not really sound like it has anything to do with the illness. It sounds like he barks about several different things?

Yorkies are too small for bark collars. Most are made for dogs that are 35lbs and up. You can train a dog not to do excessive barking but they are dogs and will bark on occasion.
